Symposium Participant: Elizabeth Alley

Hi Everybody! I will be joining the party from across the country - Memphis, TN! I'm an artist and sketching has always been an important part of my artwork. I've been posting my sketches on my blog Sketchwork since 2006. When I found the Urban Sketchers blog I thought, "these are my people." I carry a sketchbook pretty much every where I go, and sketch mostly in spare moments, except for when I'm traveling I sketch much more often. I'm looking forward to participating in this symposium to help push me to make sketching even more of a priority.

Downtown Memphis

Leaning Tower of Pisa - I love to sketch when I travel!

I always carry a 4B pencil and 3.5" x 5.5" Moleskine sketchbook, for moments like this when I have time to illustrate a scene.

I've been inspired by all of your color sketches, and have started taking watercolors on sketching excursions to our (awesome) local zoo.

You can see more of my sketches and my paintings on my Flickr page, and on my website elizabethalley.com. I also have 2 other blogs: Listwork and Art...work.

Since I am Donna's sister, I grew up in Memphis, too! haha. Lovely sketches, and I can't wait to hear your southern drawl.
