Before I get entangled in my day-to-day routine, I want to take a few minutes to express my gratitude to Gabi for his tireless efforts in making the recent symposium in Portland possible, and for inviting me to be a part of it. Thanks, too, to all of the participants, especially Tia, Lapin, Simonetta, Isabel, Veronica, Jason, Matthew, Kurt, and Gerard, for opening my eyes and helping me see the world in different and often fascinating ways. It was a genuine pleasure to share the collective energy and enthusiasm for drawing. I learned a lot and look forward to our next gathering.

  1. Thank you, Frank, for all you taught me during the symposium.
What I'll always remember is when you pointed out the gesture of one of the statues of the Skidmore Fountain. I told you I had never noticed that before and you said, "That's why we draw." So true.

  4. What a beautiful drawing Frank. It was a pleasure to meet you and have you work with me. You opened my eyes to something I never knew before, ie, the relationship between me and my subject. I'm going to work on seeing that and drawing it. Thanks again for sharing!
